"I can be a journalist without a degree in journalism?

I recently graduated with a degree in archeology, but now I have my heart put in to become a journalist. I can not afford to have another full degree – it's worth doing some form of distance education or adult education course? If so, what are the best looked?

Of course, many major newspapers and magazines do not like to hire people with titles. As an editor School of Journalism told me that churns hacks couldnt write a good shopping list. Freelancer and had a front-page column. I wrote an article led to a newspaper, and handed it to land on the first page. My first attempt, and was one of the major newspapers in Canada. I've never had a journalism class, the trick to remember before something in his hand which is to edit the hell out of it. Editors AMOR get the job need not be edited. Be brief. DONT write about local news that a staff reporter going to do. Make copies of age, if you have an idea to see if your done. CHECK all sources. Keep your eyes open and your ears open for unusual local interest story – I always carry a camera with you wherever you go, even shopping, and a recorder. One of my findings Luckily I stopped to buy a pop and a man was there with a Harley that had changed, became a tricycle to ride his wheelchair on a platform that built for him, and he does for the other riders in wheelchairs What a great story! In a wheelchair and still riding his Harley. We guarantee story like this will be published, readers and publishers love that sort of thing. So keep your eyes open for unusual things around you. Do not write for free or simply to see their name in print. If you're good, you are worthy of respect and that means a paycheck. Do not sign away their copyright in the photos. Good luck!
